Satisfied Mind
Hmm....well I figured that if I say that I am going to start blogging more often then I best do it eh? First, let me thank all of you who took the time to read my blog and then respond to it. I must admit, I can see how this whole blogging thing can get addicting.
So the other day I was sitting in the hot tub by myself enjoying some of the finer things in life (I will let you use your imagination), and I put a Johnny Cash playlist on the computer to listen to. I have never claimed to be a huge Cash fan, but I do enjoy him. Right after his infamous "Folsom Prison Blues" came on a song that I have never heard of before "A Satisfied Mind". You will have to excuse me if this is some huge Cash song that everyone knows and I am just a moron for never listening to it. The more I listened to that song the more I really took a liken to it. Allow me to quote a portion of the song and you tell me what you think.
The wealthiest personOnce again Johnny had it right. It is amazing how often we define our lives by money, possessions, what people think of us, etc. But like Johnny was saying, those who have peace with themselves and those who have friends to comfort them in lonely times; those are the ones who will die with a satisfied mind.
Is a pauper at times
Compared to the man
With a satisfied mind......
But one thing's for certain
When it comes my time
I'll leave this old world
With a satisfied mind
